Womens fashion: Appropriate fashion accessories for the office – Part 2

Accessories can show off your personality and are a stylish way to brighten up otherwise bland work clothes. However, one must take care to make sure that accessories don’t overpower and take the focus off your work.

Appropriate accessories for the office are ones that are not too big and clunky, don’t make noise and aren’t so blindingly bright that they distract people. If someone can’t look you in the eyes because they are so stunned by one of your accessories that means the accessory is too much and should not be worn in the office.

In your place of work you want to be taken seriously and have people trust you. That is hard to do if you are wearing some goofy piece of jewelry, crazy shoes, or carrying a bag shaped like an elephant. Save the “unique” accessories for other events. They should not be taken to work.

Err on the side of caution if you put something on and wonder is this too much for the office? It most likely is. Don’t wear it.

Stick to classic simple pieces that enhance an outfit but don’t make you look crazy.
