Womens bodies represented as objects of beauty – Part 7

Women today are basically seen as objects. I know that is the typical feminist thing to say, but it’s true. And the fact that this statement seems like a “radical feminist” statement should say something too.

I have been stereotyped as the typical girl many times. I’m always expected to look, act, and think a certain way. I’m expected to like and dislike certain things. I’m expected to be weak and cry over every little thing. I’m expected to be over-obsessed with my hair and what that boy thinks of me.

I refuse to give in to these stereotypes. When you think about it, there are countless expectations of females, but not very high expectations. This is like saying that women are not capable or worthy of exceptional achievements.

I know by now many of you are probably getting angry and screaming at me that I am being biased and unfair, but very very few people can say that they do not believe these stereotypes deep down. Society has basically brainwashed everyone into craving to conform to these moulds. Not many people will admit it, but i can guarantee most guys want one of these girls.

It’s sick because if a woman is a few pounds heavier than some other girls, she is made fun of and considered chubby, even though she is a perfectly normal weight. Nowadays, girls don’t have to be overweight to be considered fat. It’s ridiculous.

Women shouldn’t feel like they need to be perfect all the time, but somehow this Stepford image is continually being pushed on us. Women should be strong and diverse, and we shouldn’t be afraid to be those things! We’re not just sex symbols used for marketing schemes. We’re intelligent people with relevant opinions. We should be treated as such.
